To tackle the topic of 21st century learning, I needed to do some research! I went to YouTube and found some great videos that explained 21st century learning; some of which were animated! I continued my research to a simple Google search, using the words "21st century learning" and finally Twitter with the hashtag #21stcenturyskills. Gathering information from those platforms, I came to some conclusions:
21st century learning focuses on student-centered learning! It is ALL about the student.
Our world is ever-changing. We need to equip our students with skills to help them achieve success and be prepared for this ever-changing world.
Students who are in a 21st century learning environment have a deeper understanding of their learning.
All of this is explained in my multimodal presentation. Check it out below! NOTE: This was my first time using iMovie! I would recommend using this tool if you are integrating multiple modalities together (slides, video recordings).

I did not realize I had integrated the 4 C's in my classroom before my research. This was a surprise! I love when my students collaborate and work together (Collaboration), when they can communicate their thoughts to one another (Communication), can be creative in their final products (Creativity in Innovation), and can think critically with different topics taught in the classroom (Critical Thinking).
Rich (2010) mentions 21st century learning is "open to interpretation - and controversy." When glimpsing through her article, there are some educators wanting to stick to the past methods of teaching. I see their views but support 21st century learning wholeheartedly. While being able to read a physical book is important, I also believe it is more important to utilize and learn 21st century skills that will support students' future jobs in the current world we live in.
